Great gaming headset! Can't complain with DTS 5.1!, March 30, 2011 This review is from: Thermaltake eSPORTS HT-SHO001EC SHOCK ONE Gaming Headset (Diamond Black) (Electronics) I recently got a chance to sit down and play with the Tt eSPORTS Shock ONE headset, and I was definitely impressed. The headset was very comfortable, but it wasn't so loose that it shifted and moved around my head as I myself would move my head. The USB plug and play is great (especially if you're like me and you like to go to competitive tournaments), and the fact that you can collapse it down and fit it into an included pouch makes it a huge plus for traveling.
The sound quality is amazing, and Tt eSPORTS did an awesome job licensing the DTS 5.1 surround sound because when I'm in game, I can hear footsteps, gun sounds and even ambient noise whirling around me. The included drivers even make it easier because they offer special gaming 'presets' to adjust the EQ to a specific genre of game you're playing (FPS, RTS, MMO). With that feature, I found that even the faintest footsteps can be heard on the "FPS" preset because the EQ was adjusted to tailor towards those... Read more

Shut up and give them your money!, November 2, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Thermaltake eSPORTS HT-SHO001EC SHOCK ONE Gaming Headset (Diamond Black) (Electronics) This headset is great. The sound is amazing when set up to run 5.1 surround sound. This headset is also very comfortable, the square shape on the earpieces fit around the ear with enough space for room. They may require a little pull to try and open the headset away from the jaw line because of pressure, but after that (I also have a big jaw line) I have had no problem. I've had several experiences where my Skype calls led me to believe that someone was in fact in the room. It would have received 5 stars from me, but the software provided by TTesports is not the best. You can avoid using their software, and I would recommend not using it, by only installing the windows suggested drivers.

The materials are of higher quality than others I've used. The DTS audio is great when watching your favorite blurays and you can definitely hear your enemies sneaking up on you when gaming. Be sure to use the included software to tweak the sound to your liking, as well as setting the DTS to "movie" mode before starting your movies. I leave it set on "music" for everything else. The braided cable is a nice feature with the attached velcro strap, so you don't have to wind the cable around your headphones when transporting. The nice bonuses would include the light-up Tt logo on the ear cups (which can be switched off) and the inline controller which is easy to use but also has a sliding "Lock" on the side to keep from accidently triggering a button (mute) mid-game. Though it didn't matter to me, some may enjoy the extra long 3 meter USB cable on this headset. It will have no trouble reaching... Read more
