I have worked with thousands of professionals, primarily doctors and lawyers, to help them quickly and easily begin using Dragon software with a focus on excellent accuracy. I have worked with a variety of microphones through the years and the Buddy FlamingoMic definitely stands out among the rest.
The Buddy FlamingoMic will revolutionize the use of Dragon software for professionals using portable computers. It has the accuracy of the headset microphone with the convenience of an internal mic. It's what we've been waiting for...we just didn't know it.
Based on my experience, the most common, single reason individuals have a difficult time maintaining the transition from typing [or traditional transcription] to Dragon, is the headset microphone. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful Great Product!, July 12, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Buddy FlamingoMic 7G (Electronics) I ordered this product last week to use with my new Google Chromebook, primarily for Google Talk. What an amazing product. The on-board microphone in the Chromebook was lackluster at best and people were having trouble understanding me. Since I've switched to the FlamingoMic I've had no complaints. I can even use it outside or in the garage at work because it does a great job cancelling any background noise using something the manufacturer calls "FilteredAudio". Any background noise is completely eliminated using this microphone.
It's USB Plug & Play so was very quick and easy to use. I plan on using this on my other laptop as well because more and more I find myself using Google Chat or Skype rather than my phone. It's great because it is flexible, so I can adjust the microphone position depending on where I'm using it. It also came with a free carrying bag and a replacement windsock.

I am a very busy business person and run several online webinars each week, and also host online meetings with satellite offices. I had often heard complaints from my colleagues about my poor voice quality so I decided it was time to act.
I saw this microphone and thought the form factor would be perfect for my laptop. Since it's very flexible, I can comfortably lean back at my desk and speak into the mic.
After my first online meeting, my colleagues immediately pointed out the difference in audio quality. Like night and day, they said. No longer was the office fan or a/c causing interference. I guess the noise cancellation is legitimate.
