Great VOIP, Excellent Portability, Mediocre Music, November 13, 2011 By This review is from: Plantronics Blackwire C420 Headset - Black/Silver (Wireless Phone Accessory) I needed a collapsible headset I could use with Windows and Mac. A lot of foldable or collapsible headsets simply do not reduce their dimensions in a way that actually makes them easier to stow. What matters is that the headset becomes FLAT, not a thick W or a ball. FLAT is what is needed for someone slipping them into a laptop bag or backback. The C420 can be made very flat thanks to its rotating earpieces and microphone boon that tucks neatly alongside the headband.
As for Mac and Windows compatibility, thanks to its USB interface I can go back and forth with ease. For those who don't know, Macs lack a microphone port (they instead have a Line-in port, which has a different gain.) This ruled out the typical headsets with both Headphone and Mic 3.5mm plugs. I also did not want to have to carry around an extra accessory just for the Mac, like the iMic (which I actually own and works well, by the way.) Bluetooth was out of the question for more reasons to want to list here... Read more

Great headset, January 25, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Plantronics Blackwire C420 Headset - Black/Silver (Wireless Phone Accessory) I am very happy with this headset. I spend hours each day on conference calls and wanted something better than my speaker phone. This headset is very comfortable and has great sound quality. I really like the size of the earpiece as it fits comfortably over the ears and isn't to tight on the head. I'd recommend this product to anyone.

on my business PC running Windows 7. After fussing with audio control panel and IP
Communicator's setup "wizard", got the headset working with the soft phone. Not an
issue with the headset itself.
Also works flawlessly with various apps on my MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.6.8.
Although the audience did not complain about the audio quality, I would prefer the
mic boom be a bit longer.
